Arvin, CA – In the early hours of Wednesday, September 16, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in a man losing his life on Sycamore Road, according to KBAK.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 12:42 AM on westbound Sycamore Road just west of South Edison Road, a rural agricultural stretch of roadway west of Arvin.
Authorities said the man, of unknown age, was driving a 2007 Scion tC westbound at an unknown high rate of speed when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the roadway and overturned into a dirt field. He died at the scene.
It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors in this crash. Anyone with information is asked to call CHP Bakersfield.
