On Friday morning, an individual tragically lost their life in a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred in Watsonville. The accident, according to Kion 46 News Channel, occurred in the early morning hours of March 22, 2024.

Immediately following the accident, California Highway Patrol Santa Cruz arrived on scene. They found that a male pedestrian was walking northbound on Highway 1 in the area of Main Street. Suddenly, the pedestrian was struck by the driver of a passenger vehicle who was driving in the number two lane of the highway. Police say that the driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with police.

Several local emergency responders were dispatched to the scene. The male pedestrian, who has since been identified as a 20-year-old from Sonora, was tragically pronounced dead on scene due to his injuries caused by the accident. The driver of the vehicle, a 54-year-old, was not injured in the collision.

It is believed that the road was blocked for some time after the accident. Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision at this time.
