Bakersfield, CA – A man remains in critical condition following a severe single-vehicle rollover crash late Monday night, August 31, 2026, according to KBAK.
The Bakersfield Police Department and emergency rescue personnel responded around 10:45 PM to reports of a crash along the 8200 block of Camino Media, near the Springs apartment complex.
Investigators determined that a Honda coupe was traveling eastbound on Camino Media at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to negotiate a slight curve. The vehicle veered south, collided with several fixed objects, and rolled over before landing in the parking lot of the Springs apartments.
Firefighters extricated the driver, who was trapped inside the wreckage. First responders transported him by ambulance to Kern Medical, where he was listed in critical condition. Authorities suspect intoxication played a role in the crash. The collision remains under investigation by the Bakersfield Police Department.
