Stockton, CA — On the evening of Sunday, October 25, 2026, a 64-year-old male pedestrian was fatally struck after a two-vehicle collision, according to FOX40.

At approximately 6:24 PM, officers with the Stockton Police Department responded to reports of an accident at Church Street and Stockton Street in the city’s Seaport District.

Upon arriving at the crash site, they found that one of the cars involved had struck a nearby pedestrian. Emergency responders provided him with transportation to a nearby hospital where, despite the lifesaving efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.

Both drivers involved in the collision remained at the site of the accident and cooperated with authorities.

Fatal Pedestrian Crashes in Stockton and Wrongful Death Claims

California law operates on the legal principle of comparative negligence, which allows for liability in an accident to be divided among multiple parties. While only one of the cars involved appears to have struck the pedestrian, the other may share responsibility for the crash that led to his death.

The family of the pedestrian who lost his life may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim against one or both of the drivers involved in this accident. A wrongful death claim can provide compensation for damages including funeral expenses and the loss of support and companionship the deceased provided.
