Driver Killed in McCall, California Ave Crash in Fresno County

Fresno County, CA – On the evening of Thursday, June 4, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in a fatality, according to KSEE/KGPE, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 8:00 PM on McCall Avenue just north of California Avenue.

Authorities said the vehicle was traveling northbound on McCall Avenue and was observed driving recklessly prior to the crash. The driver appeared to have lost control of the vehicle, which overturned to the west into a vineyard and came to rest on its roof. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that drugs or alcohol appear to have been a factor in the collision. No additional details regarding the identity of the deceased had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.

Single-Vehicle Collisions

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s comparative negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages through a wrongful death claim.
