Motorcycle Killed in Crash near Hwy 65, Road 228 in Tulare County

Tulare County, CA – On the evening of Monday, June 15, 2026, a single-vehicle motorcycle collision resulted in the death of a 62-year-old Visalia man on Highway 65 near Porterville, according to KSEE/KGPE.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 11:15 PM on Highway 65 north of Road 228.

Authorities said the man was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide when he lost control of the motorcycle. Witnesses reported seeing him drift off the roadway before being ejected and landing in an open field. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the CHP Porterville Area office. The investigation remains ongoing.

Single-Vehicle Collisions

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s comparative negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages through a wrongful death claim.
