Sacramento, CA – A multi-vehicle collision on Highway 50 near Stockton Boulevard Tuesday evening, December 31, 2024, left one person injured, according to KCRA.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the collision occurred around 4:49 PM and involved at least five vehicles. One person was transported to the hospital complaining of pain, but further details on their condition were not provided.

Lanes three through five of the westbound highway were blocked for a time as crews worked to clear the scene, leading to major traffic congestion. California Department of Transportation cameras showed a backup extending nearly to the Howe Avenue interchange.

CHP has not yet disclosed the cause of the crash or whether any additional injuries were reported. Authorities remind drivers to remain vigilant and patient during such incidents to ensure everyone’s safety on the road.

Personal Injury Claims

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Liability rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. A personal injury attorney can play a crucial role in helping victims establish legal responsibility after a traffic accident.

Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the responsible party’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover damages such as hospital bills and lost income during recovery.

If you or someone you love was harmed in an accident like the one described here, feel free to contact Maison Law for any questions or to receive a no-cost, no-obligation case assessment.
