Bakersfield, CA – According to KBAK, in the early hours of Tuesday, April 30, 2024, an accident involving a big rig overturning resulted in the hospitalization of its driver and disrupted morning traffic.
The solo-vehicle crash, which was reported just before 3 AM, closed northbound I-5 just north of Grapevine Road in the number 3 and 4 lanes. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Incident Page also notes significant damage to a barbed wire fence in the vicinity as a result of the crash.
No further details have been provided as to the severity of the driver’s injuries or what factors may have led to the big rig overturning.
