San Luis Obispo, CA – In the late afternoon of Friday, April 25, 2025, a multi-vehicle collision caused injuries to three people and disrupted traffic on Highway 101, according to The San Luis Obispo Tribune.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 4:45 PM at the Los Osos Valley Road off-ramp for southbound Highway 101.

Authorities said a blue Nissan sedan, a blue BMW, and a blue Honda Civic were involved in the collision. Emergency radio traffic indicated that three people suffered injuries as a result of the crash. Medical personnel responded to the scene to provide treatment, though it was not immediately clear whether any of the injured were transported to a hospital.

As of 5:30 PM, traffic was moving slowly in the southbound lanes near the site of the crash, according to Caltrans traffic cameras. Crews worked to clear the scene and restore normal traffic flow while the California Highway Patrol continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a Personal Injury Claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
