Sacramento, CA – In the evening of Wednesday, April 23, 2025, a three-vehicle collision involving a red light violation left three people injured, including one in critical condition, according to CBS13.
The Sacramento Fire Department reports that the crash occurred shortly after 6:30 PM at the intersection of Auburn Boulevard and Fulton Avenue in north Sacramento.
Dash cam footage from a nearby vehicle showed a car running a red light and colliding with two other vehicles that were already in the intersection under a green light.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene to find one of the vehicles overturned. Crews had to extricate a person who was trapped inside the rolled vehicle. That individual was transported to the hospital in critical condition, authorities confirmed. Two other people involved in the collision sustained injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.
The incident prompted a temporary closure of lanes near the intersection as fire crews and law enforcement secured the scene and began a collision investigation. Authorities are reviewing the dash camera footage as part of their ongoing efforts to determine the exact circumstances and any contributing factors.
Sacramento Police have not yet released the names of those injured. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional footage is encouraged to contact local authorities to assist with the investigation.
Failure to Yield
In California, as in other states, “failure to yield” means that you didn’t give the right of way to the right person at the right time. As such, failure to yield or stop is closely related to the “right of way.” When a motorist fails to yield, stop or otherwise avoid an accident and causes a crash, he or she can be held liable for injuries and damages suffered by a victim.
Personal Injury Claims
When the actions of reckless drivers cause others to be injured, the cost of recovery should not fall on their victims. Filing a Personal Injury Claim with the at-fault party’s insurance can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
However, insurance companies often try to deny or minimize claims. That’s why having a knowledgeable personal injury attorney on your side is crucial to securing proper compensation for your injuries.
