Fresno, CA – On Sunday afternoon, March 23, 2025, a motorcyclist was fatally injured in a crash with a car in central Fresno, according to The Fresno Bee.
The Fresno Police report that the accident occurred just before 4:30 PM at the intersection of Cedar and Cornell avenues.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was traveling north on Cedar Avenue when he collided with the passenger side of a Dodge Magnum that was making a left turn into the parking lot of a Fresno County public library. The impact pushed the Dodge into another vehicle that was leaving the parking lot, but no one in that car was injured.
The motorcyclist was critically injured in the crash and was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist had been wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released.
In addition, a man sitting in the passenger seat of the Dodge was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. The crash did not involve any alcohol or drugs, according to investigators. No one in the second vehicle, which was struck by the Dodge, sustained injuries.
The crash caused a significant disruption to traffic, with the roadway being closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene. Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the collision.
Comparative Liability
Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Liability rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the responsible party’s insurance.
