Modesto, CA – On the morning of Tuesday, May 13, 2025, a motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a big rig, according to FOX40.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 7:00 AM on northbound Interstate 5, just north of Sperry Avenue.

Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for a broken leg. No other injuries were reported. The slow lane of the freeway was temporarily closed due to the crash but has since reopened.

The identity of the injured motorcyclist has not yet been released. No further details have been made available at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.

Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a Personal Injury Claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery
