Madera County, CA – On the morning of Saturday, May 30, 2026, a single-vehicle collision left an 18-year-old Madera woman hospitalized with major injuries after, according to KSEE/KGPE.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place on Road 16 south of Avenue 5.
Authorities said the woman was driving northbound on Road 16 when, for reasons still under investigation, she lost control of the vehicle. The car departed the roadway and struck two pistachio trees.
She was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. Investigators determined she was not under the influence at the time of the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
