Clovis, CA – On the afternoon of Monday, June 1, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in the death of an 86-year-old man after a Volvo struck a guardrail, according to KSEE/KGPE.
The Clovis Police Department reports that the accident took place around 1:40 PM on westbound Highway 168 at Herndon Avenue.
Authorities said the man was driving a Volvo XC90 westbound when it struck a guardrail. Responding officers attempted to resuscitate the driver at the scene, but he was pronounced dead. The vehicle was missing one of its front wheels following the collision.
The identity of the deceased had not been officially released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
