Fresno County, CA – On the evening of Wednesday, April 15, 2026, a collision between a golf cart and a vehicle left the golf cart driver with major injuries, according to KSEE/KGPE.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 8:00 PM on Highway 168 between Shepard and Academy Avenues.
Authorities said the golf cart was traveling westbound on Highway 168 without lights when it was struck from behind by a Mercedes. The driver of the golf cart was ejected and transported to a local hospital with major injuries.
Officials said they believe the rider had been reported missing from Sanger earlier in the day and that the individual's medical condition may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
Highway 168 between Shepard and Academy Avenues was closed while crews worked to clear the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence
Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s comparative negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
