Fresno County, CA – On the early morning of Monday, April 7, 2025, a hit-and-run collision resulted in fatal injuries to a man believed to be unhoused, according to ABC30.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 12:00 AM on southbound Marks Avenue near Highway 180.
Officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a person down in the roadway. The victim, believed to be an unhoused man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released his name pending notification of next of kin.
No suspect vehicle has been identified at this time. Southbound Marks Avenue at eastbound Highway 180 was closed for several hours as officers conducted an investigation. The CHP is asking anyone with information to come forward.
