Fresno County, CA – On the afternoon of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, a head-on collision involving three vehicles left three people hospitalized with injuries, according to ABC30.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 2:00 PM near Highway 180 and Dickenson Avenue, west of Fresno.

Investigators say the driver of a Nissan sedan was traveling eastbound on Highway 180 when they attempted to pass slower-moving traffic. During the attempted maneuver, the Nissan collided head-on with a westbound Chevrolet pickup truck. The force of the crash caused both vehicles to strike a nearby SUV, which was also traveling along the highway.

The driver of the Nissan sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. The drivers of the pickup and the SUV were transported to local hospitals by ground ambulance. Authorities stated that all three individuals are expected to survive.

CHP officers temporarily closed sections of the highway while emergency personnel responded and wreckage was cleared. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a Personal Injury Claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and wages lost during recovery.
