Monterey County, CA – On the evening of Thursday, October 10, 2025, a rollover crash involving an SUV left multiple occupants injured, according to KSBW.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:00 PM on Highway 101 north of Soledad.
The vehicle, which had been carrying seven people, including three children, struck a pole after rolling off the roadway. All occupants required medical attention.
Officers found the black GMC SUV on its wheels after it had rolled over, with one occupant pinned inside the vehicle.
Emergency responders, including the Soledad Fire Department, used extrication equipment to free the pinned occupant. All seven occupants were transported to local hospitals by AMR, Calstar, and Mercy 34 medical helicopters. The driver, a woman from Gonzales, suffered major injuries, while the remaining passengers were evaluated for pain and other injuries.
The SUV carried two male passengers, one female passenger, the female driver, and three children. CHP confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
Investigators continue to review the scene and vehicle to determine why the SUV left the roadway.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
Passenger Liability
Driver liability insurance covers both those outside the vehicle and passengers inside. While it can be emotionally difficult to file a Personal Injury claim against someone close to the victim, the financial challenges after an accident can be overwhelming. As a neutral third party, an experienced personal injury attorney can help navigate these emotional complexities.
