Santa Rosa, CA – On the morning of Sunday, July 6, 2025, a person was found dead inside an overturned vehicle near the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport, according to KRON.

The CHP reports that officers were dispatched to the area around 9:37 AM, where they located the vehicle overturned in the bushes off Laughlin Road near North Laughlin Road. The site is near the southeastern corner of the Sonoma County Airport.

Upon arrival, officers discovered signs of a collision and found one person deceased inside the vehicle. At this time, it is unknown when the crash occurred or how long the vehicle had been at the scene prior to discovery.

The incident remains under investigation, and the identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Single-Vehicle Collisions

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
