Clovis, CA — A Clovis police officer was hospitalized Tuesday morning, January 14, 2025, after a collision involving their patrol vehicle and another driver, according to ABC30.

The accident took place around 11:30 AM at the intersection of Shaw and DeWolf Avenues.

The Clovis Police Department reports that a driver heading south on DeWolf Avenue ran a red light and collided with the police unit traveling through the intersection.

The officer was transported to the hospital for treatment, while the driver involved in the crash did not report significant injuries.

Clovis police are investigating the incident to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash. The officer’s identity has not been released, and no further details have been released.

Personal Injury Claims

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Liability rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. A personal injury attorney can play a crucial role in helping victims establish legal responsibility after a traffic accident.

Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the responsible party’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover damages such as hospital bills and lost income during recovery.
