Buttonwillow, CA — According to KGET, 18-year-old Tristin Jordan Latam of Tupman lost his life on Tuesday afternoon, September 24, 2024, after his vehicle crashed into a home in Buttonwillow.

The accident occurred around 12:30 PM on Station Road. According to investigators, Latam was driving westbound when he made an unsafe turning maneuver, causing his Honda Civic to roll over. The vehicle crashed into a nearby residence. Fortunately, no one inside was injured during the incident.

Latam was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Authorities are still working to determine what caused him to lose control of the car. Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have played a role in the crash.

Liability in Single-Vehicle Collisions

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. A personal injury attorney plays a critical role in sorting through these details to help victims and their families get the compensation they deserve.

Once liability is determined, the attorney can negotiate with insurance companies, who often try to reduce payouts. That means having legal representation can be vital to ensure victims receive fair compensation for their loss.
