Pleasant Hill, CA — On the morning of Monday, January 27, 2025, a two-car crash at a busy intersection left one driver dead and another injured, according to NBC Bay Area.

The Pleasant Hill Police Department reports that the accident took place around 9:42 AM at the intersection of Taylor Boulevard and Grayson Road.

Emergency responders arrived to find a black Kia sedan and a gray Kia minivan had collided, leaving the minivan overturned on its roof.

The driver of the minivan suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital, where they later died. The driver of the sedan sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Authorities closed the intersection for several hours as they investigated, reopening the roadway at 1:25 PM.

The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Investigators have not determined the cause of the crash and continue to gather information.

Wrongful Death Claims

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Liability rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. A personal injury attorney can play a crucial role in helping victims establish legal responsibility after a traffic accident.

Should someone else be found even partly responsible for the death, the family may be able to file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income to support the family of the deceased.
