Bakersfield Car Accident Dangers
For suspects, the decision to make a desperate run from police rarely ends well for the suspect or the motorists who are along the street or highway the chase follows.
Unsuspecting victims may have little warning that a reckless driver is fleeing from police and will soon be passing by. In some cases that driver may lose control and could ram other vehicles and leave other drivers and passengers suffering from life-threatening injuries.
These are dangerous accidents that can are definitely preventable. They add to the extreme accident rates that Bakersfield travelers already face. By the count kept by California’s Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS), Bakersfield recorded 1,274 accidents involving injury in 2022. An astonishing 30 victims tragically lost their lives in those accidents.
Bakersfield roads are already filled with distracted drivers and speeding drivers. Motorists on the run from police are one hazard that can be reduced with the simple decision by motorists to avoid extremely hazardous behavior.
