Pedestrian Injured near Hwy 202, Cummings Valley Rd in Tehachapi

Tehachapi, CA — A pedestrian sustained major injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 202 near Cummings Valley Road on Wednesday night, January 22, 2025, according to KBAK.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 9:24 PM, when a vehicle hit the pedestrian on Highway 202, also known as West Valley Boulevard. 

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and temporarily closed the roadway to allow a helicopter to land and transport the injured individual to a nearby hospital.

The condition of the pedestrian remains unknown, and authorities have not released any identifying details about the victim.

The CHP is currently investigating the cause of the crash and has not yet determined if factors such as speed or impairment were involved.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the California Highway Patrol.
