Sacramento, CA – A multi-vehicle accident on eastbound Business 80 near T Street left one person in critical condition on Tuesday afternoon, September 3, 2024, according to ABC10.

The Sacramento Fire Department reported that the crash occurred around 1:30 PM and involved three victims in total.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find one of the vehicles severely damaged after striking a traffic sign. The impact left the driver of that car in critical condition, and they were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Two other individuals involved in the collision sustained only minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The area where the accident occurred is a busy stretch of Business 80, which runs through central Sacramento and is known for its heavy traffic during peak hours. Investigators are still determining what caused the vehicles to collide, and no further details about the victims have been released.

Personal Injury Claims

Determining fault in a collision can hinge on various factors, and in California, partial liability can be assigned to multiple parties. Assisting in establishing legal liability is one of the key roles that a personal injury attorney can fulfill for victims recovering from a traffic accident.

Suppose it is determined that the actions of another contributed toward the injuries. In that case, victims may qualify to file a personal injury claim with the insurance provider of those responsible. Such a claim can offer compensation to help offset hospital expenses and the loss of income from taking time off work for recovery.

Comparative Negligence

California Law upholds the concept of Comparative Negligence, which allows more than one party to share blame in a personal injury accident. Injured victims may have their compensation reduced if they are found partially to blame.
