Sacramento, CA — According to CBS13, four people were injured in a multivehicle crash on Highway 50 near the Watt Avenue exit on the morning of Thursday, November 14, 2024.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigators have not yet confirmed what caused the collision, but video evidence suggests speed was a factor. Dashcam footage captured by one witness shows a vehicle barreling into the back of a silver Jeep.
One critically injured man required extrication from his vehicle and was rushed to the hospital, according to Sacramento Fire Department officials. Three other individuals sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved, and it is unclear whether charges will be filed against the speeding driver.
Highway 50 in Sacramento County has been the site of approximately 900 crashes between January 2022 and June 2024, according to the Transportation Injury Mapping System. Of those, 54% were attributed to unsafe speeds.
CHP is continuing its investigation.
Personal Injury Claims
When the actions of reckless drivers cause others to be injured, the cost of recovery should not fall on their victims. Filing a Personal Injury claim with the at-fault party’s insurance can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
However, insurance companies often try to deny or minimize claims. That’s why having a knowledgeable personal injury attorney on your side is crucial to securing proper compensation for your injuries.
