Chowchilla Pedestrian Accident Hazards
Pedestrians are supposed to have protections on our roads, as they are some of the most vulnerable parties. However, drivers are not always on the lookout for these parties, especially on major roads and highways. These accidents continue to happen around the Chowchilla area, including Coarsegold.
According to California’s Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS), Madera County experienced 28 pedestrian accidents in all of 2022. Out of these accidents, a total of 2 people lost their lives and 28 people were injured. Approximately 25% of these accidents happened on state highways.
Because pedestrian accidents have been on the rise throughout Madera County and the rest of California, measures are constantly being implemented to ensure that these accidents can be prevented on our roads.
