Bakersfield, CA – On the morning of Tuesday, May 6, 2025, a two-vehicle collision led to one car overturning and caused injuries, according to KBAK.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident occurred around 6:00 AM on northbound Highway 99 near 24th Street in Bakersfield. The crash involved a Honda and a second vehicle, resulting in the Honda overturning and landing on its side.

Emergency crews responded promptly to the scene, where lanes 3, 4, and 5 were blocked due to the wreckage. One of the drivers involved in the collision was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The nature and severity of the injuries sustained by both drivers remain unclear as of Tuesday morning.

Traffic in the area was significantly affected while responders worked to clear the roadway and investigate the crash. The California Highway Patrol urged motorists to reduce speed and use caution, especially when approaching emergency scenes on highways.

Further details about the individuals involved have not yet been released, and authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a Personal Injury Claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
