Santa Cruz County, CA – Three motorcyclists were hospitalized after a collision in Santa Cruz County on Sunday afternoon, January 5, 2025, according to KRON.

Cal Fire CZU reports that the accident took place on Highway 9 near Shingle Mill Road.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find two riders with critical injuries and a third in moderate condition. All three motorcyclists were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Photos shared by Cal Fire CZU show emergency crews working at the site of the crash, though details about how the accident occurred remain unclear.

The California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the collision. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the injured riders or additional information about the events leading up to the crash.

Personal Injury Claims

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Liability rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. A personal injury attorney can play a crucial role in helping victims establish legal responsibility after a traffic accident.

Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the responsible party’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover damages such as hospital bills and lost income during recovery.
