Stanislaus County, CA – On Sunday, February 11, 2024, a 23-year-old motorcyclist from Modesto died in a collision with big rig truck near Waterford on Highway 132 near Blossom Road, according to ABC10.

Around 10:30 AM, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) received notification of the crash and responded to the scene on Highway 132, near Blossom. Investigations revealed that the motorcycle struck the big rig for an unknown reason while both it and the big rig were attempting a left turn. The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old Modesto man, succumbed to his wounds at the scene. Authorities do not believe driver impairment to have been a factor.

Wrongful Death Claims

Establishing fault in a collision can depend on multiple factors. Helping to determine legal liability is one of the ways that a personal injury attorney can help grieving families recovering from the loss of a loved one in a traffic accident.

If it is determined that another driver holds responsibility for their loved one’s death, they may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim with the insurance provider of the at-fault driver. A wrongful death claim can provide compensation to help cover hospital fees, burial costs, and the loss of support for dependents of the deceased.
