Bakersfield, CA – On the afternoon of Tuesday, February 20, 2024, a possible DUI collision on Stockdale Highway left a 45-year-old woman severely injured, according to KBAK.
Officers of the Bakersfield Police Department arrived at the crash site in the 3700 block of Stockdale Highway near Garnsey Avenue around 2:55 PM to find the victim in critical condition after having been struck by a Cadillac driver.
Investigations indicate the woman had been standing behind a stopped Ford when the Cadillac struck the vehicle and her with it. She received transportation to a local hospital for treatment, and the Cadillac driver was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence.
Personal Injury Claims
When the actions of reckless drivers lead to injuries for others, the cost of caring for those injuries should not fall upon their victims. Filing a claim with the insurance provider of the at-fault driver can offer compensation to help cover medical bills and time taken off of work to recover from injuries.
However, insurance companies always have it in their interests to deny or minimize all claims they receive, which is why the help of a knowledgeable personal injury attorney can make all the difference.
