Modesto, CA – A single-vehicle accident near Johansen High School early Friday morning, October 18, 2024, left one person dead, according to The Modesto Bee.

Modesto Police Department Officers were called to the intersection of Creekwood Drive and Edenton Way at around 2:40 AM, where they discovered a gray 2016 Toyota sedan that had crashed into a concrete wall and tree.

The driver, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. No passengers were involved in the accident.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, but they confirmed the driver was traveling southbound on Creekwood Drive before losing control of the car.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.

Liability in Single-Vehicle Collisions

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. A personal injury attorney plays a critical role in sorting through these details to help victims and their families get the compensation they deserve.

Once liability is determined, the attorney can negotiate with insurance companies, who often try to reduce payouts. That means having legal representation can be vital to ensure victims receive fair compensation for their loss.
