Sanger, CA – On the night of Saturday, June 21, 2025, a single-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a 60-year-old man after his car crashed into a canal, according to ABC30.
The Sanger Police Department reports that the crash occurred around Newmark and North Avenues, where officers found the vehicle submerged in the water.
Emergency responders pulled the driver from the canal and performed CPR for several minutes, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and it is currently unclear what led the vehicle to leave the roadway.
Authorities have not released the man’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
