Palmdale, CA – On the late evening of Tuesday, March 18, 2025, a fatal single-vehicle accident occurred near East Avenue K and 120th Street East, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the crash took place around 11:16 PM when a white pickup truck came to a stop in a dirt area off the right shoulder of the road.

Emergency responders, including the Los Angeles County Fire Department, were dispatched to the scene. Authorities later confirmed that at least one person was found outside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office was notified and dispatched an investigator, who arrived in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 19.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and it is unclear whether speed, impairment, or other factors played a role. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to determine the circumstances leading up to the collision.

Single-Vehicle Collisions

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
