On May 30, 2022, an accident at a stop-sign intersection south of Fresno claimed a passenger’s life and injured three others. ABC-30 TV reported the accident took place at the intersection of South Avenue and Cherry Avenue, just south of Easton in Fresno County.
Emergency crews responded to the scene sometime after 5 p.m. to find that a car and a small pickup truck had collided in a two-way intersection. California Highway Patrol investigators have not released information about which vehicle ran a stop sign to cause the crash.
The impact tragically claimed the life of a passenger in the pickup truck. The truck’s driver was transported to the hospital with major injuries. Two adults in the car were also injured. The extent of their injuries was not reported. A child in the car, fortunately, escaped injury.
The California Highway Patrol continues to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
