Fresno, CA – On the morning of Thursday, June 5, 2025, a two-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a man and injuries to a woman, according to KSEE.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:00 AM at the intersection of Buttonwillow and American Avenues.

Preliminary information indicates that one of the vehicles involved in the crash entered the intersection in front of the other, leading to a significant collision. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. A female occupant in the other vehicle sustained injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Both vehicles involved sustained substantial damage.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved, pending family notification. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the California Highway Patrol is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact their office.

Failure to Yield

In California, as in other states, “failure to yield” means that you didn’t give the right of way to the right person at the right time. As such, failure to yield or stop is closely related to the “right of way.” When a motorist fails to yield, stop, or otherwise avoid an accident and causes a crash, he or she can be held liable for injuries and damages suffered by a victim.

Wrongful Death Claims

Losing a loved one in a traffic accident is devastating, and the pain can be made worse by the financial strain that often follows. Medical bills, funeral costs, and the loss of income to support dependents of the deceased can leave families struggling. Filing a Wrongful Death claim against those responsible can provide compensation to help with these expenses.
