Sacramento, CA — A two-vehicle collision on Wednesday morning, August 22, 2023, claimed the life of one man and injured another in Sacramento County, according to Fox40.

The accident occurred around 10:30 AM on Bruceville Road, near the intersection with Sheldon Road, a busy area lined with shops and residential neighborhoods.

Emergency responders from the Sacramento Police Department and the Sacramento Fire Department arrived swiftly at the scene, where they found two vehicles severely damaged from the collision.

Despite their immediate efforts to administer life-saving measures, one of the drivers, a man whose identity has not yet been released, succumbed to his injuries shortly after. Another man involved in the crash was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that, according to officials, are not life-threatening.

Investigations into the causes of the crash are still ongoing.

Wrongful Death Claims

Establishing fault in a collision can depend on multiple factors. One crucial way a personal injury attorney can assist grieving families is by determining legal liability after the loss of a loved one in a traffic accident.

If another party is found to hold some responsibility for the death, the family may be eligible to file a Wrongful Death claim with the at-fault driver’s insurance provider. This claim can provide compensation to help cover hospital fees, burial costs, and the loss of support for the deceased’s dependents.
