Bakersfield, CA – A fatal crash on the night of Saturday, June 15, 2024, resulted in the death of a 24-year-old man from Wasco, according to KBAK.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:11 PM on Highway 43, north of Wasco Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The CHP reported that officers were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash involving a Honda traveling northbound on Highway 43 at an undetermined speed. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered left across the southbound lanes of traffic, leaving the main portion of the roadway. The Honda continued in a northwesterly direction before striking an almond tree in an orchard and overturning.
Sadly, the driver, identified as a 24-year-old man from Wasco, died as a result of the crash. The investigation into the factors contributing to the accident, including the possible involvement of alcohol or drugs, is ongoing.
