Fresno County, CA – On the morning of Thursday, April 10, 2025, a multi-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a 21-year-old woman and injuries to several others, according to ABC30.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 5:00 AM near the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 and Highway 33.

According to investigators, the crash occurred when one vehicle was struck and pushed into an adjacent lane, triggering a chain reaction involving multiple vehicles. The 21-year-old woman, who was riding in one of the cars involved, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, where she later died.

Six additional individuals were injured in the crash and transported to nearby hospitals. Authorities say those victims are currently recovering. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.

The incident remains under investigation, and officials have not determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a Personal Injury Claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
