Stockton, CA — In the early hours of Monday, January 28, 2025, a fatal crash involving a maroon Chevrolet Suburban occurred on the southbound Interstate 5 transition road to eastbound State Route 4, according to the CHPFatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 12:05 AM.
A tow truck driver who witnessed a cloud of dust kicked up by the crash pulled over to assist, but the driver of the Suburban was pronounced dead at the scene. The Chevrolet Suburban reportedly overturned approximately seven times before coming to rest in the number one lane.
Emergency responders, including the Stockton Fire Department, were dispatched to the location. The transition road ramp was shut down, and traffic was diverted to southbound Interstate 5 while authorities investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
