Folsom, CA – On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 27, 2025, a single-vehicle collision resulted in the death of one person, according to a news release from The Sacramento Bee.
The Folsom Police Department reports that the accident took place around 4:00 PM at the intersection of Folsom Boulevard and Iron Point Road.
Authorities say a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. When emergency personnel arrived, they found the driver unconscious and not breathing. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and Folsom Fire Department medics, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
No passengers were in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and no other vehicles were involved. The Folsom Police Department’s Major Accident Response Team is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
