Oxnard, CA – Early Tuesday morning, a pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of Cooper Road and Grant Avenue, according to KEYT.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:31 AM. Officers of the Oxnard Police Department (OPD) responding to the scene discovered an unresponsive man lying in the roadway, showing injuries consistent with a traffic collision. Despite the prompt arrival of emergency medical services, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the OPD, the suspect fled the scene in a dark blue Nissan Sentra, which sustained moderate damage around the license plate above the rear bumper. Investigators believe the victim was crossing the sidewalk when he was hit by the vehicle.
