Fresno, CA – On the afternoon of Monday, August 25, 2025, an elderly woman suffered serious injuries after her vehicle struck three trees and overturned, according to KSEE.
The Fresno Police reported that the woman, who is in her eighties, drove southbound on Cedar Avenue near Gettysburg Avenue when she seemed to lose control of her car.
The vehicle jumped the curb and slammed into a tree. The impact pushed the car forward into a second tree, and momentum carried it into a third before it overturned in the roadway.
Witnesses called 911 and rushed to check on the driver as her car came to rest upside down. Emergency crews arrived within minutes and carefully removed her from the wreckage.
Paramedics transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police confirmed that doctors continue to evaluate her condition, but they have not released further details about the extent of her injuries.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused her to lose control of the vehicle. Officers continue to review evidence from the crash site and plan to speak with additional witnesses.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
Personal Injury Claims
After a traffic accident, victims and their families often deal with unexpected financial burdens, such as medical bills, lost income, and, in the worst cases, burial costs. A Personal Injury Claim allows accident victims to hold the at-fault party financially responsible for their costs of care.
