Fresno, CA – On the morning of Thursday, October 30, 2025, a child was struck by an SUV in a crosswalk, sustaining injuries, according to KSEE.

The Fresno Police Department reports that the accident took place around 8:00 AM at the intersection of Millbrook and Clinton avenues, near McLane High School.

Authorities said the child was in a marked crosswalk when the SUV made contact. Emergency personnel responded quickly and assessed the child’s injuries, and determined that no hospitalization was required.

Police continue to investigate the incident to determine the exact circumstances of the collision, including vehicle speed and driver actions. The department is reminding drivers to remain vigilant in school zones and at pedestrian crossings to prevent similar accidents.

Pedestrian Accidents Involving Children

California Law requires drivers to exercise increased caution whenever they are near places that children are known to gather, like school zones and parks. Children are not expected to make rational, informed decisions about their own safety, and under the age of five, they cannot share any liability in an accident. Both negligent drivers and distracted caretakers could be found liable in accidents involving children.
