Sacramento, CA — A woman was hospitalized with serious injuries following a pedestrian collision on Friday evening, November 8, 2024, in a residential area south of downtown Sacramento, according to KCRA.

Sacramento Police responded to the scene just before 6 PM after receiving reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian in the area of 24th Street and 39th Avenue.

The pedestrian, an adult woman, sustained significant injuries in the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital. According to authorities, her injuries are serious, but she is expected to survive.

The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated fully with police. Investigators have not yet released further details about the circumstances leading to the collision.

The investigation into the cause of the incident remains ongoing.

Duty of Care Toward Pedestrians

Drivers have a specific Duty of Care towards pedestrians, who are particularly vulnerable in traffic accidents. This responsibility includes being vigilant for pedestrians near the roadway and, if a collision occurs, staying with the victim to ensure they get proper medical treatment and cooperating with authorities investigating the crash.

For those injured in a pedestrian accident, filing a Personal Injury claim with the assistance of an experienced attorney can provide compensation for medical bills and other related damages.

Should the at-fault driver avoid legal consequences, compensation might still be available through a family member’s uninsured driver coverage. Consulting with a personal injury attorney can help determine the best options in such cases.

If you or someone you love was harmed in an accident like the one described here, feel free to contact Maison Law for any questions or to receive a no-cost, no-obligation case assessment.
