Bakersfield, CA – On the evening of Saturday, March 22, 2026, a pedestrian collision resulted in the death of a man in south Bakersfield, according to KGET.

The Bakersfield Police Department reports that the accident took place just after 9:30 PM near the intersection of Pacheco Road and Olivia Street.

Authorities said the driver of a vehicle was traveling westbound on Pacheco Road when the vehicle struck a man in the roadway. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators determined that impairment was not a factor in the collision.
