Yuba County, CA – On the evening of Wednesday, January 21, 2026, a man was killed in a solo rollover collision on a rural roadway, according to FOX40, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.
CHP officers were dispatched at approximately 7:00 PM to Willow Glen Road, just north of Sky Glen Drive, following reports of a rollover crash involving a possible vehicle fire. Initial information provided to dispatch indicated a single vehicle had overturned and was blocking the roadway.
Investigators stated that a Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on Willow Glen Road when it reportedly crossed into the northbound lane, left the roadway, and collided with a concrete culvert. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its side near the intersection.
Emergency responders confirmed the driver, identified as an adult male, had sustained fatal injuries. No other vehicles were involved, and it remains unknown whether impairment was a factor.
As part of standard procedure, the roadway was fully blocked while responders secured the scene, documented evidence, and coordinated recovery operations. Traffic was diverted to alternate routes, and a tow service was requested to remove the vehicle once investigative work was completed.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office and CAL FIRE were notified and assisted as needed. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released at this time.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
