Mountain View, CA – In the early hours of Monday, April 28, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a man near the Highway 85 off-ramp on Central Expressway, according to KRON.
The Mountain View Police Department reports that the accident took place around 3:00 AM on Central Expressway near the Highway 85 off-ramp.
Authorities said the vehicle struck a wall, and the driver, who was the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by responding police and fire personnel.
Eastbound lanes of Central Expressway were closed between Castro Street and the Highway 85 off-ramp during the investigation.
The identity of the deceased had not been released at the time of reporting. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
