Sacramento, CA – In the early hours of Sunday, December 28, 2025, a two-vehicle collision resulted in serious injuries to a driver after a crash in the downtown area, according to ABC10.
The Sacramento Police Department reports that the accident took place around 1:00 AM near 12th Street and I Street.
Authorities stated that officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed shortly before the collision occurred. A short time later, officers located that same vehicle after it had crashed into another car in the downtown corridor.
Police said the driver of the initial vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Officials reported that the driver remains in critical condition based on information available at the time of release.
Occupants of the second vehicle involved in the collision were evaluated and reported no injuries. No additional transports were required for those individuals.
Authorities indicated that investigators are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the crash, including vehicle speed, traffic conditions, and driver behavior.
