Driver Ejected from Vehicle in Fatal Crash at G Street, Drake St in Antioch

Antioch, CA – In the early hours of Saturday, May 9, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a 51-year-old woman after she was ejected from her car, according to KRON.

The Antioch Police Department reports that the accident took place just after 1:00 AM at G Street and Drake Street.

Authorities said officers arrived to find the woman suffering from major injuries after being ejected from her vehicle during the crash. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was subsequently pronounced dead. Her identity was withheld at the time of reporting.

Preliminary information from witnesses and evidence at the scene suggested that speed and impairment may have been contributing factors in the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.

Single-Vehicle Collisions

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s comparative negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages through a wrongful death claim.
